Job Overview and Core Competencies

Playing a central role within the design team, you will undertake detailed design of Mechanical Building services together with an active role in developing design standards and assisting in the delivery of the highest quality projects in a timely and cost effective manner.

Job Overview

  • Production of HVAC mechanical services design from inception to completion
  • Development of design standards and specifications
  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice
  • Design of Distributed Energy Schemes & Energy Centres
  • Production of feasibility studies
  • Liaising with external designers and customers

Essential and Core Competencies

  • Qualified to degree level / Chartered or working towards Chartership
  • 4 years’ HVAC experience within the building services industry
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of current Building Regulations and Coding
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical design principles for domestic and mixed-use developments
  • Proficient in the use of information technology
  • AutoCAD / MEP literacy
  • Client focussed and with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and as part of an integrated team
  • Initiative, self-motivated and with confidence in decision making

Desirable

  • Experience in 3D design and BIM Modelling (AutoDesk Revit)
  • An understanding of integrated CHP systems including design load.
  • Previous working knowledge of BEMS (Trend based systems)
  • Previously experience of using NES/NBS type software.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding M&E design team based at our London Head Office.

Playing a central role within the design team, you will undertake detailed design of Mechanical Building services together with an active role in developing design standards and assisting in the delivery of the highest quality projects in a timely and cost effective manner.

Silver is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated Senior Electrical Design engineer to join our expanding M&E design team based at our London Office in Portsoken Street.

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least seven years’ experience within the building services industry, 5 of which in UK and be able to demonstrate excellent electrical design skills. A background in delivering major projects through the design and build lifecycle is also a requirement.

Job Overview and Core Competencies

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will undertake detailed design of Electrical Building services together with an active role in developing the design and assisting to deliver the highest quality projects in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Client focused.
  • Computer Aided Design and BIM Modelling.
  • Carry out design feasibility studies.
  • Responsibility for the management of design drawings and protocols.
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Liaising with external designers and customers and internal personnel.

Essential and Core Competencies

  • Qualified to degree level / Chartered engineer.
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision with self-management as well working as part of an integrated team.
  • Possess previous experience in leading small / medium scale projects.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with other members of the design team.
  • Must have initiative, self-motivation and the confidence to make decisions.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of current Building Regulations and Coding.
  • Proficient in the use of information technology including handheld devices and Microsoft Applications.

Desirable

  • Experience in BIM Modelling (AutoDesk Revit, AutoCAD).
  • An understanding of electrical design principles for domestic and mixed-use developments.
