Silver Energy Management Solutions Limited (Silver EMS) are employed by Barratt Homes to provide ESCo Consultancy, Decentralised Energy System Design and the Design of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services.
The appointment for New Mills Quarter follows Silver EMS providing a decentralised energy options appraisal for Barratt Homes from which a commercial position in respect of the decentralised energy system could be established.
The New Mill Quarter development is situated off Hackbridge Road, Wallington, SM6.
The existing scheme will make way for circa 795 residential units inclusive of an assisted living care home and retail supermarket.
A site wide decentralised energy system will provide low carbon space heating and domestic hot water to the entire development with the energy served by the Sutton Decentralised Energy Network (www.sden.org). The onsite system was designed to provide 9 MW of energy to the site boundary in addition to an onsite energy centre producing local distribution and resiliency.
Silver EMS provided several design options for the energy centre and district heating network providing flexibility to the client in terms of final operator.
In addition to the decentralised energy system, Silver EMS provided site wide services design and coordination for all phases.
